Heit Åkrafjorden Sauna is idyllically located at Fjæra, at the heart of the magnificent Åkrafjorden, surrounded by majestic mountains and waterfalls. This is one of Norway’s most scenically spectacular sauna experiences — a premium, intimate retreat where nature takes centre stage.
The Experience
A dedicated sauna master (badstumester) welcomes you, shows you around the area, and ensures the sauna is heated and ready. The entire facility is reserved exclusively for your group during your 1.5-hour session. With a maximum of 6 people, the experience is deeply personal. Between sauna rounds, cool off with a dip in the crystal-clear fjord while surrounded by towering mountain walls.
Time Slots
Six daily sessions are available: 10:30-12:00, 12:00-13:30, 13:30-15:00, 15:00-16:30, 16:30-18:00, and 18:00-19:30. Evening slots (19:30-23:00) are reserved for Åkrafjorden Glamping guests.

Practical Information

- Age: 18+ to book. Children 12+ welcome with adult supervision.
- Access: 5-10 minute walk from parking on a steep, winding trail. Sturdy footwear required. Not wheelchair accessible.
- Season: Mid-March to mid-November.
- No food service: Outside food permitted in the outdoor area only.
Getting There
Located at Fjæravegen 26, Fjæra in Etne municipality. The sauna is approximately 1.5 hours’ drive east of Haugesund via E134 and the Åkrafjorden road. Park at the marked area by the riverbank and walk 5-10 minutes down a steep trail to the sauna.
